Ged! Long time no hear!! Wait, you were that mesmer healer right?
wow, strange how things evolve...

Well, what you say is true... I came from Mesmer, Dervish (stuck at Bazaar), and now a monk... (call me crazy, but it all started in pre..)
I do feel one thing, is you get to appriciate the differences between classes.
On the other hand, I never laid my hands on any real PvP.

And i'll never delete my mesmer, I put a security measure into her: titles.
Loose her is lose (soon) 5 or more titles. So not a chance there.

And also, playing other proffessions lets you enjoy the best of each, so you can kinda juggle with skills and know how they work...

Thanks for the tips... Off to my Love Monkit again!

Hey Mal nice to hear from you.
You are absolutely right: playing different professions leads to more appreciation for them and to become more humble as a mesmer. Some mesmers tend to be a bit pretentious about their skills and power(and I was guilty too of such stupid attitude )
But by learnig to play other professions I saw that every profession is great and a pleasure to play so away with boredom.

I'm not bored with my mesmer at all! (maybe because I don't have a PVE mes) Anyways, I love playing as a mesmer in PvP. It's one of my favorite classes and Fragility Spike is always fun

Well I will agree that the PvE can get boring with a mesmer. Mine makes it so easy compared to my other characters. My ranger did the Jade Sea area and died a lot. My mesmer goes off to do it and goes "Ooo, melee fighters" and proceeds to decimate the mobs.

Two things about PvE; you have to know what your foes are in advance to be effective as a mesmer, more so than other professions. Examples: are the enemy healers RoF spammers (backfire!) or WoH'ers (power spike!)? Lots of fast-attacking melee (empathy) or not? Of course you can take a build that does a little of everything in PvE, but there is more room to tune it if you have advance knowledge.
Also, you're going to make the big difference at single double-powered foes (bosses). A mesmer can basically stop any one foe completely, and it doesn't matter if it's a boss.

About PvP- that's where it really shines. I actually played PvP mesmer long before making a PvE one (talking HA). The joy of interrupting or outwitting a foe trying to cast smartly is the best. A skill like Psychic Distraction is godly in so many situations... stopping the hero's capture, an ele's wards, ritualist spirit spam, hell you can PD Eviscerate if you want! But I guess it's also a profession that is hard to play(even if just because you need low ping to interrupt, PLUS fast reflexes). Your errors aren't so very visible at times, at least not to many players, but that doesn't mean what you do doesn't matter. It's not uncommon at all to have a mesmer saying "yeah I made some errors here" after a particularly troublesome fight!

Ramble ramble. <3 mes. I also play monk and war though.. variety is the spice of life.
